Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball are in full swing as both have begun (at least from Class-A and higher).  We’ve noticed a lot of new music coming out and we’re always looking to keep you informed.  So what started out as a monthly feature, has quickly turned to weekly.  Here are some songs to keep an ear out for and how you can use them.

Million Voice – Otto Knows is a song that you’ve heard, you just don’t know where.  Can be used as a crowd/noise builder, end-of-game song, introduction song or in other situations.

Put Your Hands Up – Boiling Point is a fast, upbeat, rocking song that’s been out for a couple of years now.  The pace of the song helps pump you up and will do a good job at keeping the crown engaged.  This song could be used as a pre-game build, on a pump video, to start games or even in-game.

Different Colors – Walk the Moon is the follow-up song to WtM’s smash “Shut Up And Dance”.  This song is more of a walk-in song with a catchy hook that you’ll find yourself singing, “different colors”.

The Life – Fifth Harmony is one of those songs that you don’t NEED to have, but it’s good to have as it has a great sound without being overbearing.  You’ll find your fans tapping their feet along with this song that fits nicely for walk-in.

American Oxygen – X Ambassadors will attract some attention because of its title along with Memorial Day and Independence Day coming up.  This isn’t a typical patriotic song but could be a nice five-minute filler for your walk-ins on a nice day or something that says “America” in it a few times.

Pity Party – Melanie Martinez can be used for strikeouts, or if you want to toe the line a little, use it for arguments.  It has a familiar sounding chorus to Leslie Gore’s hit more than 50 years ago.

Pride – American Authors has a positive message with the chorus about never giving up ones pride.  It’s a slower song which doesn’t really lend itself to in-game situations, but could be something to use as a drop in various situations.  Such as a player who has struck out twice and comes back with a hit.  Can be used for base hits or in-game drop for other sports.

I Go Crazy – Peter Antal featuring Zach can be shortened and use for a make noise segment, playing about 20-30 seconds of the song starting around 53 seconds can help enhance the crowd’s mood.

I Need Never Get Old – Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats had a tremendous hit with S.O.B. which is hard to play in a family setting.  This song keeps with the soulful sound but has a great feeling to get you tapping your feet.  Walkin or early in the game could be good places for this.  You could also pair it with a video of grandparents with their grandkids.

Ice Cold Summer – Trailer Choir is a country song with a great beat, talks about the summer and could very well be one of those songs that’s played all the way through September.  Evokes imagery of summer.  Walk-in or early in the game.

The Booze Cruise – Blackjack Billy is a summer drinking song.  If you’re skewing your crowd a little older, then this is a song to play.  I wouldn’t play it on a kids day or days with a lot of families, but more on Thursday nights if you have discounts on beer.

Team – Iggy Azalea is a song that I could see being played throughout the summer.  It’s Iggy and and pretty good song.  You will need the clean radio edit, and may even need to take out a couple of other references such as giving the middle finger, but it’s not that bad of a song.

Nobody Does It Better – Michael Calfan is being put right into our library to use for great plays.
