Ed Grimes has had many roles in life from city councilman, mayor, school board member, coach, and more, but it’s the upcoming 18th season behind the microphone in the California town of Tehachapi the 73-year-old is looking forward to.

Grimes’ passion for being behind the microphone gets a little bit of a delayed start this season with the first game September 23 in week four of the season.

He didn’t start out as the voice of the Warriors the first time he walked into the pressbox.  Instead, he was the spotter for the man he replaced in “Gentleman” Jim Grecian.  A piece of advice that Grecian gave to him was to develop his own style, which he’s worked on over the years.
