I had hoped for unification of the shot clock time for both genders, however I was in favor of making it 35 seconds. Creeping dangerously close to resembling NBA style play. Let them run their offense, not just run and gun!

I think part of it has to do with trying to prepare players for NBA play. While NCAA basketball is a destination for a lot of student-athletes, there are a lot of post-collegiate leagues that are playing with professional rules and think this is why NCAA chose to go this direction. Well, that and it should help to increase scoring.
