Bobby Thompson got news he didn’t want to hear on Valentine’s Day in 2014, that he has colon cancer.  The following September he was told it wasn’t curable.  That hasn’t stopped him from his role with Garden Plain High School as the P. A. announcer for basketball and football.

“I keep showing up, every day,” he said. “I don’t want to give up.”

There’s plenty for Thompson to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and he’s still strong, still loud, and still resolute.
