Curtis Parrish is the voice of football and soccer at Texas Tech, Rick Gilbert is the basketball and baseball voice, together they create quite an announcing pair at Texas Tech, sometimes covering for each other.

Parrish, who came to the school in 2000 following the retirement of longtime announcer Gerald Rogers who had announced over 700 events over 31 years, had experience behind the mic from high school and at Lubbock Christian University where he covered the sports now covered by Gilbert.

“Curtis and I have known each other for a long, long time, I think since the 80s,” Gilbert said. “He’s a very patient guy and I think I learned that from him.”
