The late Carl Beane will be inducted into the Western Massachusetts Baseball Hall of Fame next Thursday.  Beane served as the P. A. announcer for the Boston Red Sox from 2003 until a heart attack silenced him in 2012. Beane, from Agawam, Mass., is considered the most widely recognizable  and popular Red Sox P. A.

The late Carl Beane will be inducted into the Western Massachusetts Baseball Hall of Fame next Thursday.  Beane served as the P. A. announcer for the Boston Red Sox from 2003 until a heart attack silenced him in 2012.

Beane, from Agawam, Mass., is considered the most widely recognizable  and popular Red Sox P. A. announcer since Sherm Feller.

The induction will be the third such for the organization, which will feature Bill “The Spaceman” Lee as the keynote speaker.  Tickets for the banquet are on sale through the Valley Blue Sox web site, with the induction taking place next Thursday, January 28.

Other recognizable personalities to join Beane in the Hall of Fame include Fran Healy, Leo Durocher, and Wayne Granger.
