Dick Sanford has long been associated with baseball around South Florida whether it was Spring Training in West Palm Beach, Minor League and Spring Training in Jupiter, or with the Miami Marlins starting in 2000.

When Sanford wasn’t announcing professional baseball, he could also be heard announcing American Legion and high school games around Palm Beach County, sometimes pulling double duty in announcing an amateur game before the Marlins played.

An announcer for over 40 years had spent the last 15 months battling cancer, last Tuesday Sanford lost that battle.
