We received news about a month ago of the passing of Gary Godwin, a 15-year P. A. announcing veteran at University of South Alabama.

Godwin, an alumnus of the school he announced for, had been in ill health in recent years but still found the strength to get behind the mic.  He began working at the school in 1999 and even worked in pro sports for the Mobile Wizards of af2.
