Last year, we took a look and listen to Kip Childress who has one of the smoothest flowing voices in announcing.  Inflection is spot on and he delivers in a style that’s upbeat for the home team, without being an over-zealous homer.

The Dispatch: He’s no Richard Childress but does an important job

This is not his first time announcing for North Davidson High School in North Carolina, he had to take some time off when he was west coast series director for NASCAR which took him away from the mic, but provided a lot of, “Hey you” moments.

Kip is no relation to Richard, though they’re separated by only a few miles.  If you’re last name is Childress, then you must be good at speaking into a microphone, even if you aren’t related to each other.
