In an article going back eight years, we learn of Georgetown University’s basketball P. A. announcer Father William McFadden, S.J., who has now spent over 40 years behind the mic of Hoyas basketball.

Whether games were played on campus at McDonough Gymnasium, or at adopted homes at Capital Centre (also USAir Arena) and now Verizon Center (formerly MCI Center) in Washington, D. C., it’s been Father McFadden who has been there for all of the calls over the amazing history of Georgetown basketball.

This article is dated, however gives a great overview of the man whose decision to keep going is a “year-to-year thing”.  And he’s still at it!
