Rain from Hurricane Hermine forced Gulf Coast and Lely to delay the start of their game until around 10:30 p.m.  The noise ordinance in Collier County forced the sound system to be silent, and since the bands had already been sent home, they too probably would have been affected by the same ordinance.  It turned a Friday night football game, into an eerie late-night match-up that felt more like a scrimmage than a game that counts.

It happens, though rarely, and we feel for the fine folks in Florida who have been battling the weather this year.  It’s a nice place to live, a lot of great people, but sometimes the weather just doesn’t give you the best playing conditions.
