He’s announced for Gretzky, Messier, Ovechkin, Lemieux, Yzerman, Hull an every other big name player who has come through the NHL over the last 35 years, but at the end of the season, Mark Lewis will turn off his microphone one last time at Rexall Place, and not carry it over the Oilers new home next season.

Lewis announced his retirement yesterday, after a career which has seen Stanley Cup champions, the Great One lead the team from an afterthought of the WHA to an NHL dynasty, and Canada Cup tournaments.

When the Oilers move into Rogers Place next year, they’ll have a new home, and a new voice.  Already, there are several wondering how they can have their shot behind the mic.
