We’ve take a look at some of the songs that could be coming out this summer the last couple of weeks, and there are a few more on this list, but we’re also going to take a look at songs you may have forgotten about, or may have never considered that are newer, but not the latest and greatest.
House Party – Sam Hunt is a fun country song that some people love and some people don’t. It’s a fun song, good for in-game play.
Dancing in the Dark – Bruce Springsteen had Courteney Cox in the video back in the day, and is now one of those songs that illicits a pretty good call-and-response from the crowd during the chorus. With 80’s sing-a-longs and The Boss popular, don’t miss this one.
Saint Motel – My Type has been heard in commercials but has a fun clap track to start.
Jealous (I Ain’t With It) – Chromeo is another fun upbeat song, that you could put into your mainstream playlist.
Hello Friday – Flo Rida featuring Jason Derulo is a song about the start of the weekend. Because of the popularity of both singers, this song is going to get some airtime this summer. Though it does scale to a young-adult audience, not necessarily families.
I’ll Be There For You – The Rembrandts is the theme song from the 90’s TV hit “Friends”. A lot of 30-somethings with good memories of this song.
Hold On – Wilson Phillips has been in a lot of movies lately because it’s skewed to those audiences. But there isn’t at least a few fans at each game that wouldn’t want to sing the chorus. If you need a filler, you could go with this song during walk-in. It’s hard to work it into the game, unless you’re doing a lip-sync battle or a contest where a fan has to finish the lyrics.
Here Comes The Hotstepper – Ini Kamoze (Heartical Mix) was very popular in the latter part of the 90’s. Just listen to the song and you’ll find out why.
Please see our post from last week with a list of songs by Prince that could be used for in-game and pre-game use.
