The University of Tennessee football program got off to a positive start on Thursday with a 20-13 win over Appalachian State, a school that’s becoming known for their early-season upsets.  Jeff Jarnigan was on the microphone for the call of that game behind 100,000 screaming Volunteers.

Jarnigan is relatively new to Volunteer football fans as he took over behind the microphone in 1994 after 48-year veteran Bobby Dention passed away, but he’s not new in Knoxville as he’s also the voice of the Volunteer men’s basketball team.

Now, we’re not sure yet if Jarnigan’s next football game will come at Bristol Motor Speedway next Saturday when the Volunteers take on Virginia Tech, but that’s going to be another large crowd, something he’s comfortable with.
