For every Bob Sheppard, there’s a thousand Bill Roberts’, the announcers who go unnoticed outside their communities, but are as much a part of the fabric of the town and the local high school as the bricks that were use to build the school.

It’s not really known when Roberts started announcing, but it was around 1970 or 1971 that this Massachusetts announcer took over for Pop Galvin at Turners Falls High School.
